A Beautiful Path

Creation inspires awe and wonder all around us, from lush forests to majestic mountains, vast oceans to wide deserts.  Each plant and creature plays an integral and fascinating role in its environment.  The sun warms us, the rain sustains us, the stars and moon challenge us to understand our place in the vast universe.  Even rocks hold mysteries in their layers and fossils.  Beauty and power surround us every hour and every day.  Awesome.  Wonderful!

Cecil Francis Alexander was deeply moved by creation.  The hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful proclaims example after example of God’s glorious world.  In the final stanza he celebrates the abilities that God gave us to appreciate His natural wonders, to share them with those around us, and to glorify God for His greatness.

We will see the wonders of creation on our pilgrim journey to the foot of the cross.  Rejoice for each one and glorify God for them all.  Alexander’s words can help us celebrate.  Here is the chorus:

All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
the Lord God made them all.

God bless you on the journey.

Follow the Path!
