Finger Labyrinths
Sometimes there is no access to a full sized labyrinth for a pilgrim journey or meditation. Some individuals may have physical difficulties that make it difficult or impossible to walk the path. In situations like these, some people use small copies of labyrinths. Sometimes they are printed on a sheet of paper or canvas. Sometimes they are carved in wood or stone. Whatever material is used, the purpose of the labyrinth is the same.

Each labyrinth has a very unique grain and texture. They are carved in wood from olive trees growing in Bethlehem, the town of Jesus' birth. Bethlehem olive trees are sometimes called "Roman trees" because they have been growing in Bethlehem and bearing fruits since the time of Jesus and the Romans. Supplies are limited because only a small amount of material is available. Each year the trees are pruned and trimmed, and only the trimmings are used. No trees are cut down or destroyed. |

| If you have other special hardwood requests, or if you have wood that has a special meaning to you, you will be able to contact us to make arrangements for size, shipping, carving, and cost. Suggestions include a piece of wood purchased at a mission site, a piece of lumber from a chapel that has been taken down, or part of pew that has been replaced. The work could be finished or returned for finishing by you. | |||
