{"id":615,"date":"2019-04-18T05:00:27","date_gmt":"2019-04-18T10:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=615"},"modified":"2020-04-02T10:08:43","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T15:08:43","slug":"a-path-unfair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=615","title":{"rendered":"A Path Unfair"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<audio id=\"wp_mep_1\" src=\"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/m4a\/Journey%20Notes%2044%20A%20Path%20Unfair%20Accomp.m4a\"     controls=\"controls\" preload=\"none\"  >\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t<\/audio>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\njQuery(document).ready(function($) {\r\n\t$('#wp_mep_1').mediaelementplayer({\r\n\t\tm:1\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t,features: ['playpause','current','progress','duration','volume','tracks','fullscreen']\r\n\t\t,audioWidth:,audioHeight:\r\n\t});\r\n});\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<p>We learn so much about ourselves from watching children.\u00a0 The way that we react to circumstances is an example.\u00a0 When children can distinguish between the ways that people are treated, they begin to associate rewards with good behavior.\u00a0 They also learn that there can be punishment for bad behavior.\u00a0 Through that process they develop their concept of fairness.\u00a0 When events and consequences fail to conform with their understanding of that concept, they display as much righteous indignation as they can muster and raise one of the most repeated arguments in history&#8211; &#8220;That&#8217;s not fair!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jesus and his disciples traveled to Jerusalem to observe the Passover.\u00a0 They arranged for a room.\u00a0 They bought food.\u00a0 They gathered together.\u00a0 They shared the Passover meal.\u00a0 Most of the disciples were unaware that this would be the last Passover meal that they would eat with Christ.<\/p>\n<p>After the meal they went to Gethsemane where Jesus prayed.\u00a0 Then He was betrayed.\u00a0 In the dark of night, armed men forcibly took the Lord to appear before the chief priests who prosecuted Him.\u00a0 Witnesses presented false testimony, but the witnesses were unable to keep their lies straight.\u00a0 They could not support a conviction.\u00a0 Then Jesus was asked, &#8220;Are you the Messiah?&#8221;\u00a0 He replied, &#8220;You have said so.&#8221;\u00a0 They said, &#8220;Gotcha!&#8221;\u00a0 Got what?\u00a0 A kangaroo court in the dead of night with no evidence resulted in conviction?\u00a0 &#8220;That&#8217;s not fair!&#8221;\u00a0 But when Caiaphas demanded Jesus&#8217; death, Jesus offered up His life.\u00a0 He gave His life for us because it was God&#8217;s will.<\/p>\n<p>As Christians, we are to be Christlike.\u00a0 Are we able to follow His footsteps and do God&#8217;s will even when life is unfair?\u00a0 Earl Marlatt asked that question in his hymn <em>Are Ye Able<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Are ye able,&#8221; said the Master,<br \/>\n&#8220;to be crucified with me?&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Yea,&#8221; the sturdy dreamers answered,<br \/>\n&#8220;to the death we follow thee.&#8221;<br \/>\nLord, we are able.
