{"id":607,"date":"2019-04-16T05:00:30","date_gmt":"2019-04-16T10:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=607"},"modified":"2020-04-02T10:08:43","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T15:08:43","slug":"path-of-humility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=607","title":{"rendered":"Path of Humility"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<audio id=\"wp_mep_1\" src=\"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/m4a\/Journey%20Notes%2042%20Path%20of%20Humility%20Accomp.m4a\"     controls=\"controls\" preload=\"none\"  >\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t<\/audio>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\njQuery(document).ready(function($) {\r\n\t$('#wp_mep_1').mediaelementplayer({\r\n\t\tm:1\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t,features: ['playpause','current','progress','duration','volume','tracks','fullscreen']\r\n\t\t,audioWidth:,audioHeight:\r\n\t});\r\n});\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<p>Fame and glory come in many different forms.\u00a0 There are movie stars and athletes.\u00a0 There are politicians and captains of industry.\u00a0 In the music arena there are perennial stars and &#8220;one hit wonders.&#8221;\u00a0 The church has televangelists and leaders of mega-churches.\u00a0 All of them have the public&#8217;s attention.\u00a0 Entire industries exist simply to follow and report about rich and famous people.\u00a0 But earthly fame is fleeting.\u00a0 Eternal glory belongs to God alone.<\/p>\n<p>Satan tempted Jesus to become famous.\u00a0 He took Christ to the pinnacle of the temple and told Him to jump.\u00a0 Many people would be watching.\u00a0 Angels would save Him just like the scriptures said, and everyone would know that Jesus was the Messiah.\u00a0 But Jesus knew that this was neither the time nor the way chosen by God.\u00a0 He answered Satan&#8217;s challenge with scripture, &#8220;Do not put the Lord your God to the test.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The hymn <em>To God Be the Glory<\/em> was written by Fanny Crosby, the most prolific hymn writer of all time.\u00a0 As loved as this hymn is today, though, it was never mentioned by Crosby in her writings.\u00a0 It went practically unnoticed until 1954, when Billy Graham began using it during a London crusade.\u00a0 The hymn did not need to burst on the scene with fanfare when it was first introduced.\u00a0 Instead, it was written and prepared to be used in God&#8217;s time.\u00a0 Enjoy the words.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To God be the glory, great things he hath done!<br \/>\nSo loved he the world that he gave us his Son,<br \/>\nwho yielded his life an atonement for sin,<br \/>\nand opened the lifegate that all may go in.<br \/>\nPraise the Lord, praise the Lord,<br \/>\nlet the earth hear his voice!<br \/>\nPraise the Lord, praise the Lord,<br \/>\nlet the people rejoice!<br \/>\nO come to the Father thru Jesus the Son,<br \/>\nand give him the glory, great things he hath done!<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t need to be famous while we are on our pilgrim journey.\u00a0 We are promised eternity with God in glory.\u00a0 Today we are simply called to follow a path of humble obedience.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"To God Be the Glory\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cYF5ok-L5YE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
