Israel really was home for Joseph and Mary.\u00a0 It was their home because that is where they were born and raised.\u00a0 Their hearts were in the land of Israel because it was their home.<\/p>\n<p>For Jesus, though, we may need to look at things a little bit differently.\u00a0 As God incarnate, we would be right in saying that Jesus&#8217; home was in heaven.\u00a0 But He was not in heaven.\u00a0 Whether\u00a0He was in Isreal or in Egypt, Jesus was on earth.\u00a0 In contrast with Joseph and Mary whose hearts were tied to their home, Jesus&#8217; home was tied to His heart.\u00a0 &#8220;For God so loved the world&#8230;&#8221;\u00a0 Jesus made His home on earth for a while because His heart was with us.\u00a0 When He had completed the work of salvation, He returned to His eternal home.<\/p>\n<p>We are on a journey to the foot of the cross to become more Christian&#8211;more Christ-<em>like<\/em>.\u00a0 If we would be more like Him, then our hearts must be tuned to His.\u00a0 We must love the world in the same way that God loves the world&#8211;enough to save it.\u00a0 Like Jesus, though, ultimately our hearts and our home must be set on heaven.<\/p>\n<p>The hymn <em>O Thou Who Camest From Above<\/em> by Charles Wesley contains a sense of our home here on earth, and our home in heaven.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">There let it for thy glory burn<br \/>\nwith inextinguishable blaze,<br \/>\nand trembling to its source return,<br \/>\nin humble prayer and fervent praise.<\/p>\n<p>As you continue your journey, enjoy your home on earth.\u00a0 God loves us here.\u00a0 But let your heart be on heaven and look forward to your eternal home.\u00a0 God loves us there, too.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"O Thou Who Camest From Above (United Methodist Hymnal #501)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eSvmyJd8iao?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Follow the Path!<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><em><strong>CARadke<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[Use with <em>Safe Return<\/em>, day 37 of <a title=\"Order your copy of A Labyrinth Pilgrimage today!\" href=\"https:\/\/www.createspace.com\/3366946\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>A Labyrinth Pilgrimage<\/em><\/a>]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt to avoid death under the reign of Herod, he took them back &#8220;home&#8221; to Israel.\u00a0 They say that home is where the heart is.
