{"id":542,"date":"2019-04-07T05:00:52","date_gmt":"2019-04-07T10:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=542"},"modified":"2020-04-02T10:08:44","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T15:08:44","slug":"patterns-on-the-path","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=542","title":{"rendered":"Patterns on the Path"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<audio id=\"wp_mep_1\" src=\"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/m4a\/Journey%20Notes%2033%20Patterns%20on%20the%20Path%20Accomp.m4a\"     controls=\"controls\" preload=\"none\"  >\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t<\/audio>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\njQuery(document).ready(function($) {\r\n\t$('#wp_mep_1').mediaelementplayer({\r\n\t\tm:1\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t,features: ['playpause','current','progress','duration','volume','tracks','fullscreen']\r\n\t\t,audioWidth:,audioHeight:\r\n\t});\r\n});\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<p>Along our journey we have seen examples of good behaviors and bad behaviors.\u00a0 We should be starting to see the patterns.\u00a0 Seeking God&#8217;s will and answering His call leads to blessing.\u00a0 Rejecting His ways and ignoring His Word doesn&#8217;t.\u00a0 Which we will do is our choice.<\/p>\n<p>William Williams lived in Wales in the 1700s.\u00a0 It was the era of the Great Awakening and Williams was a leader in the Welsh Methodist movement.\u00a0 He found comfort in patterns of scripture reading, prayer, and singing.\u00a0 The patterns extended to more than his devotional life, though.\u00a0 He traveled over 100,000 miles through the countryside preaching and establishing <em>seiadau<\/em>, which were local fellowships of Methodist people.\u00a0 Wales is barely more than\u00a0150 miles from north to south and even less from east to west.\u00a0 To travel 100,000 miles Williams had to cover and retrace the same roads hundreds of times.\u00a0 There were patterns in his journeys, and all roads led to God.\u00a0 He saw the Holy Spirit moving and transforming communities day by day, week by week, and year by year.\u00a0 Williams saw patterns of blessing where souls were fed by the Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Williams wrote hundreds of hymns during his ministry.\u00a0 <em>Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah<\/em> is one of his best known hymns.\u00a0 In all of his travels, Williams continued to hunger for God&#8217;s guidance.\u00a0 We need to feed that same hunger.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Guide me, O thou great Jehovah,<br \/>\npilgrim through this barren land.<br \/>\nI am weak, but thou art mighty;<br \/>\nhold me with thy powerful hand.<br \/>\nBread of heaven, bread of heaven,<br \/>\nfeed me till I want no more;<br \/>\nfeed me till I want no more.<\/p>\n<p>Search for God&#8217;s patterns in your life and for your life.\u00a0 Then live those patterns.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah (United Methodist Hymnal #127)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JdS-DoSiHVA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
