{"id":325,"date":"2019-03-24T05:00:54","date_gmt":"2019-03-24T10:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=325"},"modified":"2020-04-02T10:09:07","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T15:09:07","slug":"reminders-on-the-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=325","title":{"rendered":"Reminders on the Journey"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<audio id=\"wp_mep_1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.CrossLabyrinth.com\/m4a\/Journey%20Notes%2019%20Reminders%20on%20the%20Journey%20Accomp.m4a\"     controls=\"controls\" preload=\"none\"  >\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t<\/audio>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\njQuery(document).ready(function($) {\r\n\t$('#wp_mep_1').mediaelementplayer({\r\n\t\tm:1\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t,features: ['playpause','current','progress','duration','volume','tracks','fullscreen']\r\n\t\t,audioWidth:,audioHeight:\r\n\t});\r\n});\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<p>Memories and reminders both have something to do with the past, but they are very different things.\u00a0 A memory recalls a fact or event.\u00a0 A reminder can point us to the future.\u00a0 Tying a string around your finger is a reminder.\u00a0 The string may have been tied in the past, but it reminds us to think about the reason for tying the string.\u00a0 It reminds us of something that is coming.<\/p>\n<p>God pointed to the\u00a0rainbow in the clouds as a reminder of His promise that there would never be another flood like the one in Noah&#8217;s time.\u00a0 God made that promise.\u00a0 Since He always remembers, the reminder was not for Him.\u00a0 We have a habit of forgetting.\u00a0 The rainbow is a reminder for us.\u00a0 It is a reminder that there is love and joy and promise even through the hardships in life.\u00a0 It is a reminder that the future can be better.<\/p>\n<p>George Matheson was a man who distinguished himself through his intellect, graduating at the head of his class in classics, logic, and philosophy.\u00a0 One of his greatest challenges stemmed from a degenerative illness that left him totally blind by the age of 20.\u00a0 Twenty years later he wrote the famous hymn <em>O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go<\/em>.\u00a0 Though he had spent half his life sightless, the vision of the rainbow remained a special reminder to him of enduring joy in spite of hardships.\u00a0 When you have read these words, close your eyes and see the rainbow as Matheson would have.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">O Joy that seekest me through pain,<br \/>\nI cannot close my heart to thee;<br \/>\nI trace the rainbow thru the rain,<br \/>\nand feel the promise is not vain,<br \/>\nthat morn shall tearless be.<\/p>\n<p>There will be reminders along the journey to the foot of the cross.\u00a0 Reminders of God&#8217;s love.\u00a0 Reminders of His promises.\u00a0 Reminders that God has purpose and blessing for you.\u00a0 They are more than memories.\u00a0 They are promises for today.\u00a0 Promises for the future.\u00a0 God&#8217;s promises are never in vain.\u00a0 Look for the reminders that God has placed for you to see.\u00a0 Find the joy and encouragement that God has for you.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uGvXILDYl6g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
