{"id":238,"date":"2019-03-15T05:00:27","date_gmt":"2019-03-15T10:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=238"},"modified":"2020-04-02T10:09:07","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T15:09:07","slug":"recognized-by-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/JourneyNotes\/?p=238","title":{"rendered":"Recognized by God"},"content":{"rendered":"\t<audio id=\"wp_mep_1\" src=\"http:\/\/crosslabyrinth.com\/m4a\/Journey%20Notes%2010%20Recognized%20by%20God%20Accomp.m4a\"     controls=\"controls\" preload=\"none\"  >\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t<\/audio>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\njQuery(document).ready(function($) {\r\n\t$('#wp_mep_1').mediaelementplayer({\r\n\t\tm:1\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t,features: ['playpause','current','progress','duration','volume','tracks','fullscreen']\r\n\t\t,audioWidth:,audioHeight:\r\n\t});\r\n});\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<p>After Adam and Eve sinned they heard God in the garden.\u00a0 Instead of greeting their Creator and enjoying perfect fellowship, they hid.\u00a0 They hid from God by running away.\u00a0 They hid their bodies with awkward, itchy, fig-leaf\u00a0garments.\u00a0 They hid their thoughts by evading God&#8217;s questions.\u00a0 They could not recognize God&#8217;s image in themselves.\u00a0 They cloaked themselves and could not recognize each other.\u00a0 Worst of all, they could not even recognize God&#8217;s love.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, none of their hiding fooled God.\u00a0 He knew where to find Adam and Eve.\u00a0 He still knew them.\u00a0 He still loved them.\u00a0 Even when they could not recognize themselves, God recognized them perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Elliott wrote the well known hymn <em>Just As I Am, Without One Plea<\/em>.\u00a0 One evening she struggled with the reality of her spiritual life.\u00a0 Her inner struggle continued the next day, so she focused on the &#8220;great certainties&#8221; of her salvation, set pen to paper, and\u00a0recorded what she called &#8220;the formulae of her faith.&#8221;\u00a0 Consider these words:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Just as I am, thy love unknown<br \/>\nhath broken every barrier down;<br \/>\nnow, to be thine, yea thine alone,<br \/>\nO Lamb of God, I come, I come.<\/p>\n<p>God recognized Adam and Eve just as they were.\u00a0 He recognized Charlotte Elliott just as she was.\u00a0 He recognizes you and me, too, just as you are, and just as I am.<\/p>\n<p>Take comfort in knowing that today and every day, God recognizes you on your journey.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Just As I Am\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZC1gQAF3Il8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
